Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Wegmans, Walgreens, and Aldi have all asked their customers to no longer openly carry firearms after mass shootings in Texas and Ohio left dozens murdered.

In a statement, Publix said: “Publix respectfully requests that only law enforcement officials openly carry firearms in our stores.”

Florida already has a law prohibiting people from openly carrying firearms in public. The few exceptions to the rule are individuals who carry the weapon inside their homes or places of business.
